Selecting the right-sized air compressor is key for a blasting project. If the compressor is smaller than what it should be, it could lead to the contractor losing their profits.

Factors that need to be considered when choosing an air compressor:

• Allowance for extra air

One of the biggest misconceptions is overstating how much air an air compressor can actually  supply.

It might be more expensive to rent and use a bigger air compressor, but it is worth it in the end. Since 1 psi pressure drop equals 1.5% efficiency loss, the increase of blasting productivity far exceeds the cost.
