NAVY HULL PROJECT NEARLY TRIPLES PRODUCTIVITY WITH VERTIDRIVE M4
SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA
In October 2020, Eptec, a specialized contractor, faced a common challenge: they had to remove 21.5 mils [550 microns] of marine coating from a navy vessel hull at Garden Island dockyard in Sydney, Australia. With the dual objectives of increasing productivity and safety in mind, they engaged our services to help optimize their blasting process.
To meet their requirements, we deployed the VertiDrive M4 Ultra High Pressure (UHP) robot. This high-performing blasting machine, paired with an NLB 300hp – 10 gallon/minute pump, was set to operate at a substantial pressure of 40,000 psi.
This case study emphasizes the profound impact that advanced technology like the VertiDrive M4 can make in industrial blasting operations. The ability to nearly triple productivity and significantly enhance safety makes it a powerful tool for our clients. This particular case reinforces our brand promise: helping clients deliver Faster, Safer, Cleaner solutions. By integrating the VertiDrive M4 into their operations, Eptec was able to enjoy the tangible benefits that come with cutting-edge technology, demonstrating the real-world value we aim to deliver to our clients.
