Forgacs Cairncross Dockyard is an industrial abrasive blasting company located in Queensland, Australia. The company was experiencing issues related to worn equipment and nozzles, limited access to low pressure, and a lack of understanding regarding the hardness of abrasives and production.

The client’s best-case outcome was to have low blast profiles, correct abrasive selections, improved equipment condition, and better blaster blasting style.

BlastOne was brought in to help with various stages of coating failure and provide a solution.

The unique challenges faced during this project included having the client understand the issues related to low adhesion, low blast profiles, incorrect abrasive selections, poor equipment condition, and poor blasting style.

BlastOne’s solution was to educate the blasters and painters on pressure, particle size, and blasting style. This approach aimed to help the client better understand the issues they were facing and how to improve their abrasive blasting process.

BlastOne also recommended the use of GMA Garnet instead of crushed glass and imported garnet.

The final result of BlastOne’s solution was the client using GMA Garnet over crushed glass and imported garnet. This change helped to improve the quality of the abrasive blasting process and reduce coating failure.

The education provided by BlastOne also helped the client to understand the importance of pressure, particle size, and blasting style, resulting in a more efficient and effective process which will reduce coating failure and improve efficiency.
