A contracting client of ours was removing a 625 micron (25mil) coating from a tank to a SP-10 blast spec.

BlastOne optimised their project by supplying a Vertidrive blasting robot as well as a 4 outlet megablaster. Two of the hoses were utilized by the robot… the other two by operators who worked on areas, the robot couldn’t navigate.

RESULTS:

• The human operators achieved blasting speeds of 8-11 m²/hour
• The Vertidrive blasting robot achieve blasting speeds of 24 m²/hour
• Total abrasive consumption equaled 16 kg/m²
