DeFelsko® PosiTector® BHI Barcol Hardness Impressor
The PosiTector BHI – DeFelsko’s solution for measuring hardness on hard plastics and soft metals, such as aluminum, copper, brass, and more.
- Familiar. The BHI probe is interchangeable and compatible with the tried-and-true PosiTector instrument platform. It is available as a package with either the Standard or the Advanced Gage/Body, or as a probe-only.
- Specialized. Compares to the 934-1 Barcol Hardness Tester.

- Memory. Enhances convenience and reliability of reporting by saving readings for archiving or reporting.

- Test Time. To improve accuracy when testing some materials that continue to deform during the test, the PosiTector Barcol Hardness Impressor offers on-board elapsed time setting capability.
Note: The PosiTector BHI is factory calibrated. A glass zero-plate is included in the BHI package for use when replacing the indentor, compensating for wear, etc. A full listing of items included in the probe kit is shown on the brochure under the documents tab.

Tthe PosiTector® BHI not only meets but exceeds industry standards, including ASTM B648/D2583, DIN EN 59, and AS/NZS 3572.22, ensuring that users can confidently rely on its measurements. The device also features a user-adjustable measurement time with on-screen countdown, a Hi-RES mode for increased displayed resolution, and includes both hard and soft aluminum alloy test disks and a leveling plate for verifying operation.
