HOW TO EFFECTIVELY SANITISE YOUR BLAST HELMET
Note: Always follow the helmet manufacturer’s instructions and company rules and regulations regarding cleaning your Personal Protection Blast Helmet.
WARNING: NEVER EVER SHARE BLAST HELMETS
DAILY HELMET HYGIENE
1. Exterior Helmet Inspection
- Helmet Shell – check for cracks and damage
- Visor & Lenses – check to make sure safety and visibility is intact
- Cape & Bib – make sure is clean and not holding contaminants
2. Internal Helmet Inspection
- Check overall cleanliness
- Wash with Soap & Water – Do not use household cleaners
- MAKE SURE HELMET IS COMPLETELY DRY BEFORE EVER APPLYING OVER HEAD
3. Remove Helmet from dusty and contaminated work areas each day
- Hang helmet in a clean, dry location
4. If Helmet is clean but SMELLS, use a commercial aerosol sanitiser. Do not use home cleaning products.
DEEP CLEANING YOUR HELMET
1. Remove Bib & Pads from Helmet
- Wash the components or replace. Oftentimes it is more cost effective to replace the inner components if work environment require weekly (or greater) deep cleaning
- Wash by hand in cold water or use a gentle cycle washing machine
- Do NOT dry with electric dryers as it will corrupt adhesion
- NEVER apply helmet back on head until all components and helmet are COMPLETELY DRY
